Tongue ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Tongue – Daily Speaking Gym mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Speech & Audio Data
Tongue uses your device's microphone and Apple's Speech Recognition framework to transcribe your spoken responses during practice sessions. Audio is processed on-device or through Apple's speech recognition servers. We do not store, transmit, or retain your audio recordings on our servers.
Usage Data
We collect anonymized usage data to improve the app experience, including session completion counts, streak data, selected language preferences, and feature usage. This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage mechanisms.
Subscription Data
Subscription purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and managed by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. We do not collect or store your payment information. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID to manage your subscription status. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
AI Coaching Feedback
When you use the AI coaching feature, your transcribed speech text (not audio) may be sent to our servers to generate personalized feedback. This text is processed in real time and is not permanently stored or linked to your identity.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information
- We do not collect precise location data
- We do not record or store audio files
- We do not sell or share personal data with third-party advertisers
- We do not use tracking or fingerprinting technologies
Data Storage
Your app preferences, session history, and streak data are stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults. This data is not synced to any external server and is removed when you delete the app.
Third-Party Services
- Apple Speech Recognition — processes audio for transcription. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store — processes payments. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
Tongue is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
